International
Cryonics Institute and Center for Life Extension
(I.C.I.C.L.E.)
The IC Institute is a non-profit
organization, dedicated to the idea that through education, the quality and
length of life can be improved. We are constantly researching avenues of Life
Extension and will act as both a clearing house for information as well as an
active research facility.
The Institute is located in an
isolated area in the hills above Nederland, Colorado. It is funded with a grant
from Norway and staffed locally. We have an ongoing experiment in cryonic preservation
that can be followed in The Iceman's Log, below. We hold occasional fundraisers
and are usually a supporter of the Frozen Dead Guy Days, a Festival put on by
the Chamber of Commerce in Ned.

Frozen Dead Guy Days
The Festival is usually held the first weekend
in March and celebrates the Absurdity of Life as well as Death. These days,
there are no official Tours during the Festival, , but there is a Midnight Tour,
after the Blue Ball...the night before the Parade and Coffin Race.

Special Events
The Grave
Diggers Lunch, a fundraiser, was put on to further our research into Life
Extension. It also functioned as a volunteer effort and helped maintain and
facilitate the cryonic storage portion of the Institute. This was a once in
a decade opportunity to view the cryonic chamber as completely as it can be
viewed, once we removed the 8 inches of accumulated frost and replaced the damaged
containers.
The
Grave Diggers Lunch went off as planned on Halloween (06)and a great
time was had by all.
