May Ice Run done on June 11th

According to Shift Policy, we are now one and a half weeks ahead of schedule. One more five week period will shift us a full two weeks and then we can shift back to a 4 week schedule and ride out the rest of summer and Fall. The weather has been increasingly warmer, but the block ice is holding up well.

Sure was nice when we first arrived.......

But then things changed just a bit......

Yes, that's snow......

It can snow in Colorado ANY month.

Be that as it may....we do our job rain or shine.

We had about 400 pounds of ice left at a temperature of approximately -80 F.

We shifted the old ice and loaded in some new....1800 pounds to be exact.

We loaded in our ice, wrapped in bags and filled up all available space.

While filling, we came across a Crystal Critter....

and a bunch of his friends..

We had to break up the last few blocks in order to fit them into the cryonic chamber...

We finally got all the ice stuffed in and closed up the chamber and the shed until next time.......

Next run scheduled for July 16
